The Bible isn’t isolated verses or random books compiled into one volume. It’s a continuous story of God and how He interacts with us. To see the big picture, watch this video that reviews the story (our story) so far. Then return here for today’s Bible reading.

Read Genesis 9-11; journal your thoughts to God.

Now that we’ve set the stage with the early history of our world, we’ll move to Luke. After completing Luke, we’ll go back to Job, who lived in ancient times, and then finish Genesis, with the story of Abraham and his descendants.

Watch this video to introduce Luke.

Then read Luke 1; journal your thoughts to God.

Today’s video is really important. It will help you as you journal every day.

Do you sometimes wonder what to write in your journal, in your conversation with God? I often use His words from that day’s reading. It’s really powerful. Watch this video for a five-minute example of “praying the Bible.” Don’t worry, your prayers don’t need to be this long!

Read Psalm 23; use the words in this psalm to journal your thoughts to God. We’ll be reading Psalms all year, with Proverbs beginning mid-year. Audio: https://www.biblegateway.com/audio/dramatized/niv/Ps.23-Ps.23

Read Psalm 8 and ponder God’s majesty and amazing creation. Spend time outside today with your family, enjoying nature and each other!
