Song: Rescue Story – Our perfect God is using imperfect people to bring about His plan to rescue mankind.

TUESDAY

Genesis 28-30 – Listen/read and journal.

Song: Touch of Heaven – Lord, we will be still and linger in Your presence.

WEDNESDAY

Genesis 31-32 – Listen/read and journal.

THURSDAY

Jacob has twelve sons. From one of Jacob’s twelve sons Jesus will come. We’d expect this to be Reuben (first born), but he is disqualified when he sleeps with his father’s concubine. Simeon (second born) and Levi (third born) are disqualified by their intense anger and violence, seeking revenge for their sister against Shechem.

Genesis 33-35 – Listen/read and journal.

FRIDAY

Yesterday we read about the sins of Jacob’s three oldest sons. Today’s reading shows us why Judah (fourth born son) would also seem to be disqualified: he hatches a plan to sell his brother, his sons act wickedly, and he treats his daughter-in-law deceitfully. But Jesus will come from Judah’s line. God’s grace prevails. Next week we’ll discover Judah’s transformation.

Genesis 36-38 – Listen/read and journal.

Song: Still in Control – Sold as a slave, Joseph’s life didn’t look anything like his dreams. But God had a plan and was still in control.

SATURDAY

Watch this video and pray for Egypt.

Psalm 9 – Listen/read and journal. (A reminder: We already read Psalm 8 a few months ago. Some psalms that fit thematically with the day’s readings are scheduled out of order.)

Song: Psalm 9 – adapted from Psalm 9

SUNDAY

Song: Psalm 10
