The Bible isn’t isolated verses or random books compiled into one volume. It’s a continuous story of God and how He interacts with us. Here’s a quick view at the big picture: God creates a beautiful place for us, we make a mess of our world, and God begins to unfold His rescue plan.
Genesis 12-13 – Listen as you read in your Bible, underlining or highlighting sections that especially speak to you. Then use those sections to journal your thoughts to God.
Song: Rescue – God doesn’t leave us on our own. Hear the Father’s love in this song, working His powerful rescue plan.

FRIDAY
This video “connects the dots” from Genesis to Jesus. We’ll watch the rest of this series as we read Luke beginning next week.
The prophet Isaiah lived about 700 years before Jesus’ birth. His writings include prophecies about Jesus’ birth and His work on earth. Today for your Bible reading, read the verses below and think about who Jesus is.
The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor …
